Hi I'm Jo, during my career I have supported children and young people in a variety of roles. My first job was working in a nursery caring for babies and  young children. From here I moved into secondary schools working as a TA supporting pupils with additional learning needs. This was when I decided to retrain as a teacher, completing my degree through The Open University of Wales and then a PGCE at Swansea Metropolitan University. Shortly after qualifying I started teaching English at a mainstream comprehensive school where I stayed for eight years. At  this point I made the decision to leave the classroom behind and trained to become a local authority foster carer. Through my work as a foster carer I had the privilege to witness the positive effects of play therapy on the children and young people in my care. This has inspired me to become a play therapist.
