What is Play Therapy?
Play is a child’s natural language and as a therapist I support children when they play out difficult or upsetting feelings or experiences. Play therapy provides emotional support and can help children make sense of feelings which are often confusing and frightening. Play therapy can also help children to understand friendships or relationships that may be tricky and enable them to manage conflict more easily. Therapy starts with a meeting with the adults around the child so that I can understand concerns and gain an insight into the child’s history and support system.
My extensive training and experience in play therapy equips me with a deep understanding of child development and therapeutic techniques, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of every child. I prioritise building a trusting relationship with my clients, ensuring they feel seen, heard and valued.
I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and empowering environment for children to explore their emotions and experiences.

My son recently completed a block of play therapy sessions with Jo which has had a massive positive impact on him. From the sessions James has gained the tools to explain how he feels and begin to understand them. He has also grown in confidence and self worth which will aid him moving forward. As well as help James so much Jo has been an incredible support to us as parents giving lots of advice in different situation to help us guide James in the right direction. James always talks about Jo and the wonderful relationship he has had with her.
Jo will always be hold a special place in our family and we can't thank her enough.
Jo is such an excellent Play Therapist. She is patient, insightful and so good at making it all feel like part of a bigger picture. I would recommend her whole heartedly. She doesn’t just provide support for children but the wider family. I knew from the first conversation that we were in good hands and I have learnt so much in the process. Really grateful Jo. Thank you .
